What a great night playing with my band at Songs for All Souls.
The bands arrived for set up and sound check around 4:30pm and by 7:15pm a crowd of about 130 had converged on All Souls Church Leichhardt. With Richard Fenton engineering the sound for the night we were all set for a night of crisp and clear sounds from all the artists.
My band opened the night and it was a great chance to give the songs I have penned for my upcoming EP some airplay. As it was an acoustic night, only my keyboard player Mark and my bass player Josh joined me on stage (missing were my electric guitarist James and my drummer Tim). Mark and Josh did a brilliant job and shows the hours put in to rehearse and develop these songs.
After my band, we then got to hear songs and their stories from Ruth Shooter, the very polished Greg Cooper and finally my great friends and commendable hosts Tribe of Sparrows. Each artist brought their unique style and if given the chance again, I would happily do another gig with these great song writers.
Speaking with Tribe of Sparrows post the event they commented on the many conversations had with people afterwards who remarked how refreshed they felt & how much they had enjoyed the night.
